Raiders Dodgeball

Advantage! Barrow Raiders Community Foundation were approached, pre-pandemic, to offer Dodgeball to young people in Barrow, with funding from Active Cumbria and British Dodgeball.

Since the funding, we have trained 12 local PE teachers, coaches and Advantage! staff, to Level 2 coaching standard, and offered twenty young people, including our sports leaders, to complete the online Level 1 Dodgeball course.

We have been running weekly Dodgeball sessions at Hoops Basketball Centre, on Saturdays during the winter, and Thursday evenings during the summer months.  

Our intention is to engage with local schools to hold Dodgeball tournaments, with a view to growing participation numbers.

Ultimately, with collaboration with other partners, we would ideally like to start Barrow’s very own, Dodgeball Club.
