I work as a Supervisor for Westmorland and Furness Council Adult Social Care managing 2 supported living houses for adults with a learning disability.  I am also a life long Barrow Raiders fan.  I am very passionate about the work undertaken in our community by Advantage! Community Foundation and have witnessed first hand the life changing effects it has had on the service users I work with.  I believe in inclusion and that all sports should be accessible to all individuals.  The work carried out in our community by the foundation cements my beliefs, offering health, well-being and inclusion to all and benefitting the lives of all who participate.  I am heavily involved in the LD side of programmes and volunteer with the LDSL festivals enabling our team to travel far and wide to take part in these amazing days!  Advantage! Has encouraged and empowered the individuals I work with, I have seen how their confidence has grown, new friendships have been forged, even relationships blossoming, they feel equal to the 1^st Team at  Barrow Raiders and integral members of the Club, some joining in on match days with the 1^st team in their after match celebrations.  The Foundation is inspiring, inclusive, diverse and most importantly safe and friendly.  I hope to bring my skills in Adult Social Care to the Foundation to help secure its future in our community for many more years to come.
